Infernal Overdrive is a heavy rock and roll band shaped in early 2008 when Marc Schleicher (fmr. Loud Earth [Reverb Nation, Facebook]) in Red Lender. Soon they obtained Rich Miele (fmr. Loud Earth [Reverb Nation, Facebook]) on board enjoying 2nd lead guitar. In the course of some of their early shows, Jake Metz (Godzero [MySpace]) joined the band on bass, but he was quickly replaced by Keith Schleicher.

Their audio is a mixture of their common influences these kinds of as Led Zeppelin, Blue Cheer, Free of charge, Grand Funk, Os, Deep Purple and Pink Floyd and newer heavy bands like Kyuss, Nebula, Soundgarden, STP, QOTSA and Monster Magnet.

After a treacherous search to come across his long lost brother, Keith Schleicher was sucked into the vortex to fulfill his destiny on bass guitar. Evaluation by The Obelisk / Stoner Rock:

Infernal Overdrive Kick into Gear
With manufacturing by Andrew Schneider (Throttlerod, The Introduced Lower, Hackman) and learning by Nick Zampiello at New Alliance East in Boston, there is no doubt that New Jersey riff rockers Infernal Overdrive are likely for that Tiny Stone Data sound. The four tracks that comprise their new self-titled EP drop in line with the sort of straightforward guitar-led rock the Detroit label has proffered for well over a ten years now, and with a comparable southern/classic ‘70s impact to New York’s The Introduced Lower, Infernal Overdrive seem remarkably aware of what they’re doing sonically. A lot more so than you may possibly anticipate for a band just releasing their first EP.

The story goes that when guitarist/vocalist Marc Schleicher (ex-Cracktorch [MySpace], Antler) moved from Massachusetts to central New Jersey, he got hooked up with drummer Mike Bennett and guitarist/backing vocalist Prosperous Miele (each ex-Loud Earth [Reverb Nation, Facebook]). Keith Schleicher (relation assumed) was added on bass and Infernal Overdrive started rocking out early 2008. The EP was recorded above two days in February and 4 in April, and however that appears rapid, none of the songs feels rushed or underdone. Schneider, who also displays up on additional backing vocals, tends to make his mark audio-clever in the tone of Schleicher and Miele’s guitars and Bennett’s snare sound, which has the very same pop Schneider has turn into known for – not way too vivid, but able to reduce via the combine and propel the songs forward. Some of Schleicher’s leads, as on EP nearer “Motor,” experience a little also believed out, also structured wherever what I’d like to listen to is a tiny bluesy ‘70s recklessness, but they get the work done nevertheless, and the vocals are by no means out of location.

Although the freeway for which it is named runs down through the total East Coast, there is no question that when Infernal Overdrive open the EP with “I-95,” they are conversing about Jersey. The song is a southern-hued guitar rocker that sets the tone effectively for the a few tracks that follow with an ear towards rock traditionalism and, when yet again, like-minded Modest Stone heavy-hitters Sasquatch, Dixie Witch, et al. It is challenging to argue with the approach when it works as nicely as it does on the speedy “The Edge,” which forgoes central Jersey’s reputation for large psychedelia in the design of Monster Magnet in favor of Halfway to Gone’s stripped-down take on rock. “Duel” slows down the rate considerably but nonetheless keeps a mid?paced groove that tends to make use of some nicely?positioned direct lines that begin the tune reminding me of Iron Maiden filtered by way of Nebula’s druggy haze. Only “Motor,” which devolves into an prolonged jam that provides the track to a total of just below twelve minutes, is longer, as the tunes on Infernal Overdrive go in buy from shortest to longest. Whether or not that’s on goal on the portion of the band, I really don’t know – I’d think about at least putting “Motor” final is – but I suppose it is as very good a method of group as any.

There is a brief communication from the Devil right after “Motor” finishes up, and which is the finish of the EP. Infernal Overdrive are out fairly speedy when you think about their first launch is only 26 minutes and several of the 4 songs just take up about eleven of it. No grievances even though, as the four-piece know specifically how to get the most out of their audio and present precisely that on these tracks. It is a hell of an investment to make with a self-introduced debut to hook up with the likes of Schneider and Zampiello, but Infernal Overdrive make the most of Schleicher and co.’s collected experience, and occur off sounding confident and notably mature for a band who’s been jointly significantly less than 3 a long time. It may possibly not be changing the sport, but Infernal Overdrive is undoubtedly value checking out for everyone who would like to hook into some reliable and unpretentious heavy rock.

Evaluation by Slicing Edge Rocks:
A few years ago we reviewed a robust up-and-coming Jersey band Loud Earth [Reverb Nation, Facebook]. Properly, it appears they dissolved and morphed into Infernal Overdrive. The new band is two elements Loud Earth [Reverb Nation, Facebook] (drummer Mike Bennett and guitarist/backing vocalist Wealthy Miele), one portion Cracktorch [MySpace], Antler (guitarist/vocalist Marc Schleicher) and one particular element brother (bassist Keith Schleicher). Mike contacted me letting me know the band shaped right after Marc relocated from Boston and set up shop in Jersey. He sent along the EP for my listening pleasure. And a enjoyment it is! The songs are baked in southern ‘70s difficult rock with catchy riffs and plenty of power rumbling in the pipes. The data is sketchy but according the record’s liner notes, the four-track EP was recorded this calendar year in Brooklyn, NY over five days (Feb 27, 28 &amp April 17, eighteen, 24, twenty five). Creation was handled by Andrew Schneider (Throttlerod, The Introduced Lower, Hackman) with learning by Nick Zampiello. Followers of our web site will immediately make the Modest Stone connection and that would seem to be wherever the band are heading as the vibe is defiantly Detroit retro.

Just take for occasion “I-95” which opens the disc with a solid guitar wail and foot-stomping drum defeat. Tambourine is additional for taste but the track bellows like fellow Boston-natives Roadsaw, mixing biker thunder with a Pat Travers/Leslie West riff-fest. Second track, “The Edge” is pure aged college Nugent, including the repeat riff and frantic, almost MC5 delivery. Schleicher voice is ragged and completely ready to rock. The drums hammer and the bass drives laying down a sound bed for some alluring solo prospects. “Duel” has more Fu Manchu in the groove. It’s mainly in the chorus, but the build in the verse is nonetheless extremely Scott Hill/Brant Bjork. The monitor also boasts our beloved solo – frayed, not more than played and sparked with cosmic electricity. “Motor” is a thirteen-minute stoner masterpiece. A hefty bottom stop provides to mind Sabbath, Sasquatch and Mountain. The riff is clean but thick with a layered solo painting in all the little nuances – excellent for a psychedelic journey. The echo on the vocals provides to the songs dripping mysticism whilst the guitar is allowed to float, pierce and melt the brain. Yeah, it only four tunes, but dude, someday that’s all you need when they’re this good.

Evaluation by Hefty World
I just lately had a likelihood to hear some new materials from thee guys and I will tell you proper now, this is a band to be on the seem out for. They are going places. Their audio is straight up southern stoner rock. If I had to assess them, I’d say they are a little bit harder version of The Introduced Very low. Checkout the usual social press spots (back links below) to listen to what I’m conversing about and retain up to date with all their happenings since you’ll certainly be listening to from them again.

Love the soundtrack for this game. MGS1 and 2 were my favorite games in the series. 3 was pretty good, but honestly 4 kind of ruined the plot for me. It was too convoluted and ridiculous even for Kojima’s standards. Great music though, MGS1′s final boss music made me nostalgia hard.
