Read the manual on how to put music. Or try connecting your ipod through the USB slots provided on the PS3. I know the 60GB and the 80GB have it but I don’t know about the 40GB. Good luck.

if you are referring to the in-game ipod, i don’t think you can add your own music. you can find new tracks for it scattered throughout the game to play on it, but it won’t read music from the ps3 hard drive. as the other poster mentioned, you may be able to plug a real ipod into the ps3, but i’ve never tried it (it does work with an xbox 360, though, so its worth a shot).
